Getting better

Posted by Katherine on June 5th, 2010

“I’ve got to admit it’s getting better (better), a little better all the time…”

Josiah is home! He was released from the hospital this morning and is currently relaxing (or trying to) on the couch downstairs. He still has to go back to the hospital several times a day for medicine, but it is a huge step for him to be home only nine days after brain surgery. He’s quite elated to be free of the nurses and the hospital food, but I’m also quite sure we’ll have to watch him to make sure he doesn’t try running up and downstairs or headbutting a soccer ball. His burning desire to blitz through his recovery aside, he does seem to be healing with remarkable swiftness. There is still swelling, however, so please continue to pray that down, and to pray for his complete recovery. At this point the Lindquists are even considering (I don’t know for sure if anything has been decided) finishing out their time here. Thank you for your prayers for Josiah and the family; keep them up!

On a (more? less?) personal front: one month left! I don’t know if it’s making the homesickness better or worse to have the end in sight. That’s right, that’s right, I’m an unrepentant homebody who has been missing home and family since day one. Deal with it; I am.

In other news, Chris and I will be tying the knot at New London Presbyterian Church (the church I grew up in) on March 26, 2011. And yes, I do mean the old church, not the new mega-center. Wedding planning is a mixture of surreal and overwhelming, especially since I’m out of the country! I’m so grateful for my parents’ help and support.

Finally, for those who have asked oh-so-nicely:

Cheers,

Katherine Elyse

P.S.- I’ve started uploading the videos I took during dress rehearsals to my youtube account. Two are up already; look for more!
