Merry Heart

I thank it, poor fool, it keeps on the windy side of care.

Yeah, yeah, yeah

“She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah”

Two years!

We’ve now been married as long as we were dating/engaged, so that’s nifty.

It’s amazing to me to look back to when we were strangers, when we were co-stars, when we were long distance, when we were missionaries, when we were newlyweds (we’re officially out of newlywed range, right?) and then look at where we are now. Some days it’s hard for me to remember that I haven’t known Chris all my life; harder still to imagine that we’ve only been married two years. It always seems like it’s been longer than it has…but in a great way!

This year I am especially thankful for Chris’s leadership. I appreciate his gifts and the ways he utilizes them to take point on our finances and various other Grown Up concerns. I am especially challenged and encouraged by his leadership in our spiritual lives. I am grateful that he takes the time to pray with me several times a day.

In the coming year I hope to improve at following Chris’s leadership. (Me, having issues giving up control? I never.) I also hope to find more ways to support and encourage him.

The traditional gift for the second year of marriage is cotton. We have a few gift cards saved up (I’ve been hoping to revamp our bedroom colors for awhile now), so hopefully we’ll snag some new sheets and I can show off our second anniversary duds before the third rolls around.

Siesta Key at sunset.
